Where to find it

  • Its stand in the Playground, up on the mountain.
  • Walk onto the white middle of its stand and stop there: the game opens. Click or tap the stand to see the high scores.
  • Settings > Activities > Play, or type !memoz in the chat - from any room.

  • Do today’s challenge: 10 gems, once a day.
  • Do a feat: 10 gems, once each.
  • Solve the puzzle of the day: 10 gems, once a day.
  • A board of shells. Each shell hides a bacterium, and every bacterium has a twin somewhere.
  • When a level starts, every shell opens for a moment. Look hard: remember who is where. Then they all shut.
  • Click or tap two shells. The same bacterium twice? They stay open. Two different ones? They stay open for a moment so you can look, then they shut again.
  • Find every pair to clear the level. Each level has one more pair: 2 on level 1, up to 10. From level 4 the board changes shape: a diamond, two islands, a ring.
  • Some pairs wear a badge. Find one and it helps you: a clock gives you 5 seconds back, an eye opens every shell for a second, and a star finds one more pair for you.
  • From level 5, be careful: every second wrong pair makes two shut shells swap places.
  • Every 5th level is Munidark’s. When you have found half the pairs, he shuffles the shells that are still shut. Watch where they slide!
  • The green gauge on the left is your time. When it gets low it turns red and ticks. The first time it is empty, you get a second chance: a third of it comes back. The next time, the game is over.
  • Want more time to look? On the game’s title, switch on "A longer look at the shells": they stay open twice as long when a level starts.
  • Hard to tell two colours apart? Switch on "Numbers on the bacteria" on the title (or press N): each kind wears its own number.
  • Need a break? Press the pause button at the top left of the window, or the P key. The game also pauses by itself if you switch to another window.

Scoring

  • 500 points for each pair you find.
  • Pairs in a row pay more: 750 for the second, 1,000 for the third and every one after it. A wrong pair ends the row.
  • A wrong pair costs 200 points - but a level can never take away more than it gave you.
  • Clear a level fast: a time bonus. The fuller the gauge, the bigger the bonus - up to 1,000 points times the level.
  • Press the gold trophy at the top left of the game’s window. It shows two boards: This week and All time.
  • This week: your best score since Monday. The board starts empty every Monday, so everyone has a new chance.
  • When the week ends, the top 3 win Arcade Tokens: 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd.
  • Spend them at the Prize Counter: press Prize Counter under the boards, or talk to Artie in the Lobby. It has the Minigame Surprise Box, a trophy for every minigame to put in your home, and every minigame aura.

Get far enough in one game and you earn a medal, with gems. Each medal gives its gems once.

  • Bronze5 gemsReach level 3.
  • Silver10 gemsReach level 5.
  • Gold15 gemsReach level 7. Gold also gives you the Brain kit.

Every day there is one small goal. Do it and you get 10 gems. Tomorrow there is a new one. It is one of these:

  • Reach level 4 in one game.
  • Score 8,000 points in one game.
  • Finish 3 games.
  • Find 30 pairs in one day.
  • On the game’s title, press Puzzle of the day. Everyone on the island gets the same board that day.
  • 8 pairs, and no clock. The shells open for 4 seconds, then you have 12 tries to find every pair.
  • Solve it and you get 10 gems, once a day. You can try as often as you like: the board stays the same all day.

Three things to pull off. Each one gives 10 gems, once. The trophy at the top left of the game’s window shows which you have.

  • The levels never end: each one is a little harder.
  • Your avatar waits in the room while you play; the others see a game controller over you.
  • Every game is checked by the island's server: a score that doesn't add up isn't counted.
