Mafiaz

Minigame

The tanuki gang is counting its loot. Swap two pieces to line up three of a kind - and keep the bar full.

In the game, type !mafiaz in the chat to open it from any room.

Where to find it

  • Its stand in the Royal Party Bar, at the palace: just to the right when you come in.
  • Walk onto the white middle of its stand and stop there: the game opens. Click or tap the stand to see the high scores.
  • Settings > Activities > Play, or type !mafiaz in the chat - from any room.
WinMinigame Surprise BoxBorsalino from Boss Gold
  • Finish the week in the top 3: 10, 6 or 3 Arcade Tokens, to spend at the Prize Counter (Artie, in the Lobby): a trophy of each minigame for your home, the minigame auras and more.
  • Earn a medal: 5, 10 or 15 gems, once each.
  • Do today’s challenge: 10 gems, once a day.
  • Do a feat: 10 gems, once each.
  • Solve the puzzle of the day: 10 gems, once a day.
  • The board holds 64 pieces of seven kinds: shurikens, playing cards, dragons, wads of notes, diamonds, dice and gold bars.
  • Swap two pieces that are side by side, or one above the other. Click on one, then on the other (on a phone: tap, tap).
  • You can also drag a piece onto its neighbour: it follows your finger.
  • If the swap lines up three or more of a kind, across or down, they go. If it lines up nothing, the two pieces go back.
  • The pieces above fall down, and new ones come from the top. If that lines up three more, they go too - and that is worth more.
  • The bar above the board runs down all the time. Every line you make fills it a little.
  • Fill the bar and the level is done: a new board, and the bar runs down faster.
  • Do not take too long: after 75 seconds on a level, the bar runs down faster and faster.
  • When the bar is nearly empty, it blinks and ticks. If it runs out, you get one second chance a game: the bar goes back to a quarter. The next time, the game is over.
  • Stuck? After 5 seconds, a swap you can make twinkles.
  • No swap left on the board? "No more moves" - you get a new board, and the bar waits meanwhile.
  • The small line over the level is the level’s goal. Do it for a bonus.
  • On a phone held flat, the game shows the board only, so the pieces are bigger. Your level, your score and the bar are on the left.
  • Need a break? Press the pause button at the top left of the window, or the P key. The game also pauses by itself if you switch to another window. The board is hidden while the game is paused.

Scoring

  • 100 points for a line of three, and 70 more for each extra piece in it.
  • Two lines at once? 80 more for each extra line.
  • When falling pieces make a new line, it is worth 90 more - then 180 more, 270 more...
  • A bomb gives 200 points when it goes off, a cross piece 300, the boss 500.
  • Fill the bar: 5,000 points on level 1, and 500 more each level. Level 5 gives 7,000!
  • Be quick: a level done at once gives 1,500 more. You lose 30 of them for each second it takes.
  • 500 points for the level’s goal: 12 pieces of one kind, 2 lines of four or more, or 3 takes in one fall.
  • No more moves? The new board comes with 200 points (3 times a level).
  • Press the gold trophy at the top left of the game’s window. It shows two boards: This week and All time.
  • This week: your best score since Monday. The board starts empty every Monday, so everyone has a new chance.
  • When the week ends, the top 3 win Arcade Tokens: 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd.
  • Spend them at the Prize Counter: press Prize Counter under the boards, or talk to Artie in the Lobby. It has the Minigame Surprise Box, a trophy for every minigame to put in your home, and every minigame aura.

Get far enough in one game and you earn a medal, with gems. Each medal gives its gems once.

  • Bronze5 gemsReach level 3.
  • Silver10 gemsReach level 6.
  • Gold15 gemsReach level 10. Gold also gives you the Borsalino from Boss Gold.

Every day there is one small goal. Do it and you get 10 gems. Tomorrow there is a new one. It is one of these:

  • Reach level 3 in one game.
  • Score 15,000 points in one game.
  • Finish 3 games.
  • Line up 400 pieces in one day.
  • Make 6 lines of four or more in one day.
  • Make 4 takes or more in one fall.

A big line leaves a special piece behind. It has a little mark on its corner.

  • The bomba line of fourLine it up like any piece of its kind: the eight pieces around it go too.
  • The cross piecetwo lines that crossMake an L or a T to get one. Line it up again and its whole row and its whole column go.
  • The bossa line of fiveThe gang’s hat on a gold coin. Swap it with a piece next to it: every piece of that kind goes, all over the board.
  • The clockfrom level 3It comes in with the new pieces now and then. Line it up and the bar stops for 5 seconds.
  • Chained piecesMunidarkOnly on Munidark’s levels (5, 10, 15...), when the room goes dark. You can not move a chained piece - line it up with others to get rid of it.
  • On the game’s title, press Puzzle of the day. Everyone on the island gets the same board that day.
  • Fifteen pieces, and 4 swaps. Clear them all!
  • No bar and no new pieces, so you have all the time you want.
  • Tip: the order matters. A swap in the wrong place can leave pieces that no longer line up.
  • A swap that lines up nothing does not count.
  • Solve it and you get 10 gems, once a day. You can try as often as you like.
  • On the game’s title, press Rush: 2 minutes.
  • No bar to fill and no levels: the bar is the clock. Score as much as you can before it runs out.
  • Special pieces work as in the game.
  • A rush is just for fun: it is not on the High Scores and gives no reward. Your best rush is kept on your own device.

Four things to pull off. Each one gives 10 gems, once. The trophy at the top left of the game’s window shows which you have.

  • The levels never end: each one is a little harder.
  • Your avatar waits in the room while you play; the others see a game controller over you.
  • Every game is checked by the island's server: a score that doesn't add up isn't counted.
